Carl Safina

Name: Carl Safina
Country: USA
Occupation: Conservationist, author
Specialty: ocean conservation and fisheries
Best part about my job: Doing something worthwhile.
Biggest challenges I face: Religious fundamentalists, the Republican party's environmental recklessness, overpopulation, and climate change.
The most unusual or exciting thing that's happened to me while working in the field: Nearly getting kidnapped by separatists in the southern Philippines.
Why I like being a member of Project GloBAL: It keeps me off the streets, and the people are great to be affiliated with.
Researcher / conservationist I most admire: Rachel Carson
When I'm not working on Project GloBAL I like to: go fishing and write books
Ten years from now, I hope I will be doing: the same stuff: writing, contributing toward conservation, and being part of exciting projects with great people, like this one.
